This was Bear, when we first met, about 9 years ago now.
I'd decided I wanted a dog, and I wanted to rehome one, so I went to Cleadon Kennels, near to where I lived at the time.
It wasn't a particularly nice place then, and there wasn't an opportunity to walk him or see him outside a cage, so it wasn't risk free
They thought he was about 2 years old, and they had given him the name Bear. The deal was, £50 paid up front, and he's your dog...
He was one of the only dogs not barking and pacing when I visited. Probably stressed about being abandoned by his previous owners. So, I took a chance on him, and I've never once regretted it.
Bear changed my life, and helped me, jut as much as I changed his, from the day I first took him home.
He is getting on a bit now though, but we've had plenty of adventures together, and there's plenty more to come before he retires.
Remember: a dog isn't in a rescue because it's bad, its in a rescue because people are bad
